![]() Companies have had to realize that they now have to be the ones to in essence purchase the consumer. Since the way people are affected by advertisements is completely different from when advertising first started, big companies have had to make huge adjustments to the way they promote their products. In today’s world you could watch an entire advertisement and by the end of it you are still wondering what it had to do with the actual product. When they first started all of their advertisements were simple and involved a basic picture of the product and some general information about it. Things have changed a lot since they first started advertising their product. It takes a long time to master the art of advertisement and Jif has been doing it for over 50 years now. Jif would not be able to donate money if they could not continue to make it. Jif responded to this negativity not by removing the slogan from their advertisement, but by simply changing the slogan to, “Choosy Moms and Dads Choose Jif.” This slogan has received a lot of negative attention, not only because of the way it targets mothers, but also because it fails to mention fathers. Moms that choose Jif supposedly love their kids more because they would not let them choose any other kind of peanut butter. They almost use it as a guilt tool to make moms buy their product. This slogan basically means that if you are a smart mom and care about what your kids eat then you will choose Jif. In their catchy advertisement slogan “Choosy Moms Choose Jif,” they are targeting moms. If you walked into a grocery store you are more then likely going to overlook where the peanut butter is, that is because more often than not Jif has paid to have their peanut butter placed at the eye level of a child.Īlthough Jif primarily targets the younger generation they make sure to also target mothers. Jif also spends millions of dollars a year on where exactly their product is place in the local grocery stores. By using simple colors and the easy to read, say and spell company name kids will always be able to recognize it at the store. They used primary colors and made sure that the only thing on the face of the jar was the name of the product. Jif knows that their target age group is young kids. A lot has changed since then because Jif’s label is now very simple and easily recognized. You almost had to search the jar for the name of the company. There was a weird looking cartoon on it and a lot of advertisements and promotions for other products were place on the lid, this made the jar look very busy. The first ever Jif product came in a glass jar and the logo had a lot going on. ![]() We do not " let the votes decide."
